In collaboration with 67 statewide economic development offices, community leaders, utility partners and other local affiliates, EFI accomplishes its mission of confidentially assisting companies with their location, relocation and expansion plans.

Florida is home to nearly 60,000 exporters, the second highest number in the United States. In 2019, Florida companies exported more than $56 billion worth of goods – making it the 7th largest exporting state in the country – and more than $43 billion worth of services were sold to companies in more than 200 countries around the world. Moreover, an entrepreneurial spirit helps companies of all sizes stay innovative and globally competitive. In Florida, that spirit of entrepreneurship is alive and well. The state is home to more than two million small businesses.

TheMinority and Small Business, Entrepreneurship and Capital (MASBEC) divisionof Enterprise Florida was established to improve the economic, business and regulatory climate in Florida for minority, small business and entrepreneurial firms. MASBEC’s objective is to provide critical resources and support to these entities directly and in collaboration with strategic partners throughout the state.

EFI assists small and minority businesses and entrepreneurs by:

  • Assisting with access to University Technology Transfer Offices, Incubators and Accelerators
  • Providing information and direction tobusiness owners seeking financing
  • Providing information tohelp small businesses growand prosper
  • Acting as a clearinghouse for state-level business incentives and programs supporting job growth
